United States outplay Slovenia, get in top eight

Santa Fe, Argentina, August 23, 2017 - The United States outplayed Slovenia in eight finals round of the FIVB Girls’ U18 World Championship.


The American team won in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-22 in one hour and eight minutes of game time.

Logan Eggleston topped for the USA with 19 points (including 4 aces), while Mica Allison scored 12. No Slovenian player recorded double digits in this match. Tali Lekse finished with merely 7 units as the Europeans’ best scorer.

Slovenian reception failed twice in the first set and this gave the Americans a big chance to take an advantage that went definitively on their side.
The USA capitalized their services efficiently and closed with a 12-9 balance and led 7-9 in blocks.
