A total of 20 teams from around the world will compete at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship.
As per the FIVB sports regulations, the number of spots awarded by the FIVB for each Confederation for the next World Championships is as follows:

Note: minimum 10 teams (or 50%) in qualification process. If not fulfilling the requirements, one out of the two vacancies of the Confederation concerned will be distributed according to the World Ranking (as of January 1, 2017).
Qualification Process
According to the above criteria the host country automatically qualified for the biennial event.
The 19 vacancies are determined through qualifying tournaments held within the five FIVB Confederations (AVC, CAVB, CEV, CSV and NORCECA) and the World Ranking (as of January 1, 2017).
