The celebration has begun in FIVB Girls' U18 WCH

 

Argentinean fans cheer for their team during the opening ceremony held at the National Technological University Stadium in Santa Fe minutes before the match between the host team and Germany.

Santa Fe, Argentina, August 18, 2017 - The National Technological University Stadium received a total of 4000 attendants for the opening ceremony of FIVB Girls’ U18 World Championship that began on Friday.


A parade with the presence of ten of the twenty nations that compete in the cities of Rosario and Santa Fe was part of a beautiful mosaic on the court.

Local and National Sports authorities welcomed fans, visitors and teams from several parts of the country as well as the world in a competition held for the first time in this category. 


“For us this has been such a great effort to bring this championship to this region region. This is the first time we hold an U18 female competition. We worked hard to refurbish this venue and we hope this can be a kind of legacy,” stated Fabian Bochatay, head of the local organizing committee and President of the Volleyball Federation of Santa Fe, who spoke on behalf of the Argentinean Volleyball Federation, Juan Antonio Gutierrez.

Among the authorities present at the opening act there were the Vice Governor of the Province of Santa Fe, Carlos Fascendini as well as Santa Fe Reform and State Minister, Pablo Farias andLocal Senator Emilio Katon. 



Vice Dean of the National Technological University, Rudy Grether attended to the ceremony representing the campus whose facilities were chosen to host the tournament.

Argentinean singer Coti Hernandez performed the National Anthem before the last match of the night that was played between the team of Germany and the host squad.
