Slovenia prevailed over a resilient Korean performance

 

Nika Cigale (11) of Slovenia scored 11 points for her team in their victory over Korea on Friday. Slovenian team finished with an advantage of 8 blocks against 3 by the Asians.

Santa Fe, Argentina, August 18 2017 - Slovenia defeated Korea 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 26-24) despite a resilient performance by the Asian team in the third set.

The Pool A match, held at the National Technological University Stadium had Nika Cigale as best scorer who tallied 11 points for Slovenia, while Yesol Lee closed with 10 for the Korean squad that tried to come back. 

However, the team coached by Wanki Cho gave up 27 seven points in errors.  Slovenian service prevailed over Korea’s 9-4 with three aces by Cigale. 

Also in blocks the Europeans dominated 8-3 with three blocks by Brina Bracko in a match that lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes.
