Cairo, Egypt, May 12, 2016 - Madagascar will host the 2016 Girls' U18 African Nations Championship with the event set to be a qualifier for the FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship 2017.
The country will welcome the competition from August 19 to 26, 2016, three years after it successfully organised the 2013 Women's African Club Championship with 16 teams.
The African Volleyball governing body determined the 3rd August as a deadline for the National Federations to confirm their participation. The championship is open to players born on 1st January 2000 or after.
This African Championship will be qualifying for the 2017 FIVB Girls' Youth African Nations Championship as Africa has been granted 2 vacancies in this competition.
Egypt are the defending champions of this competition as they won the last edition in Algeria 2014.
