Gryka and Gorecka gathered 12 and 11 points respectively, while captain Oliwia Baluk backed them up with 10 of her own. Poland also subdued Colombia by a comfortable 14-3 on aces, but the South American side won the blocking battle with 9-5 numbers.

Although Poland had a high error rate on the first set, Baluk and Gryka did well for a nail-biting 25-23. Colombia felt the hit and faced a huge disadvantage right after, a 10-1 that transformed into an enormous 25-7, and tried next with some rock-solid blocks that slowed down their rivals, but it wasn’t enough. Poland tied the score on 23-23 after being down 21-17 and darted to the win by 27-25 with an ace by Gryka.
