Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina, August 27, 2017 - The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship enjoyed the best possible closure as the hall in Rosario was once again packed with over 8’000 fans who witnessed Italy's victory against the Dominican Republic in a a delightful decisive match.

Italy prevailed 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-12, 25-20) with Terry Enweonwu, Alessia Populini and MVP Elena Pietrini in superb shape, while the Dominican Republic contributed to the show spurred on by their star Madeline Guillen to create a marvelous game, well celebrated by the fans.

It was the second time back-to-back titles were recorded in the Girls’ U18 World Championships as Italy followed in the footsteps of China, who won consecutive editions in 2001 and 2003. This was also the second-ever gold medal for Italy after the one collected in 2015, and the sixth medal overall including one silver and three bronzes.
