Belarusian players celebrate their victory against Brazil in the first match of FIVB Girls' U18 World Championship played in Santa Fe.
Santa Fe, Argentina, August 18, 2017 - Belarus opened with an astonishing win in their FIVB Girls’ U18 debut against Brazil in the first match of Pool B celebrated at the National Technological University Stadium.
The Belarusians showed a solid performance since the beginning of the first set and secured the victory in three by scores of 25-18, 26-24 and 25-14.
Tatsiana Kholad scored a total of 16 points and Vera Kastsiuchyk scored 12 for the European team that gave a the surprise. Kholad also aced three times and Yuliya Kisliuk five.
Brazil tried to get back in the second but struggled a lot in the third after a 10- plus point deficit. The South Americans surrendered a total of 18 units by mistakes.
Julia Isabelle Bergman topped for Brazil with 9 points, including three aces.
