Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina, August 20, 2017 - The celebration of Children’s Day in Argentina provided a perfect frame for FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship activities in both cities.

On Sunday morning a Mini Volley festival took place at Independence Park, a facility located just beside the Newell’s Old Boys’ Stadium in Rosario.

The festival, that included some friendly matches between local clubs to promote the practice of volleyball by children, was organised by the Rosarian Volleyball Association and the municipal authorities of the city.

Also in Santa Fe, the Riverfront Boulevard was closed to local traffic and prepared as a huge playing venue for fans and children during the break between morning and afternoon sessions celebrated at the Technological University Stadium.

An attendance of 800 boys and girls from 16 clubs of the Santa Fe city leagues enjoyed the competition along with their parents before getting in to the stadium that received a full crowd for the match between Argentina and Korea.

The local volleyball authorities have also announced that another mini volley festival with matches between youngsters will take place at Independence Park prior to the Finals on August 27.
